2023 Edition Summary

The 2023 edition of Cannes Next have showcased the largest and boldest programming in its history, with more than 3,000 participants spread over more than 40 events.

Attendees had the opportunity to experience the Global Virtual Production Summit, the Film Soho Innovation Hub, the next specials at the Plage des Palmes and breathtaking immersive experiences such as MURALS, V F C, Breakout 13, The Meaning and Mystery of Life, and the Tech4 Movie Experience Center.

They gained insights from over 25 sessions in the Cannes Next Conference Program, covering topics from Business of Sustainability to Groundbreaking Distribution Technologies, Next Generation Training programs, to Producers Pitching against a Shark Tank Jury and Artificial Intelligence.

Attendees learned how to get better business deals by understanding Data Driven Insights and how to implement Innovation at the Future Media Hubs, explored the future centerpoint of Europe’s Film Industry Data Driven Insights, and heard from groundbreaking storytellers and producers and billion dollar company founders on the potential of Web3 and the Future of Financing and Creativity through Artificial Intelligence. They also witnessed the launch of a Cutting Edge Digital Platform from Spain. Moreover, Cannes Next provided insights to the film industry through the special Media Outlook session by Creative Europe Media and the annual Nostradamus Report.

The program involved over 50+ speakers and industry leaders from the forefront of Cinema, Business, and Technology, including Industrial Light and Magic, the team of 1899, Paramount, Red Bull Media House, PWC Germany, among others.

Cannes Next, will be back in Cannes from Wednesday 15 to Monday 20 May 2024 for a new edition. Cannes Next will highlight the industry’s most prominent game-changers, trends, and technologies through different format:

Next Summit

The Next Summit is an executive-level event curated by the Next team. The Summit is produced in close collaboration with exclusive partners on the hottest topics, trends, and innovations impacting the film and entertainment business.

Sessions

The Session is a fully serviced, and produced format dedicated to our partners and clients to engage with their audiences and present and future clients at Cannes.

Workshops

The Workshop is a medium-length format aimed to engage Cannes participants deeply into a topic or a theme / or carry out dedicated promotional debate, upskilling, training, think tank, or similar activities.

The Showcase is a presentation format hosted on our exclusive main stage to feature specifically highlight portfolios, investments, projects, or talents.
