Fantastic 7 is a common initiative of the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes, Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia and international expert Bernardo Bergeret.

Fantastic 7 fosters emerging talents and connects them with potential business partners by creating a privileged space for dialogue and exchange supported by top-notch international film festivals.

📆 The Fantastic 7 showcase will be held on Sunday 21 May 2023 | 12:00-14:00 (Palais K, Palais des Festivals).

Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia

Born in 1968 as the 1st International Week of Fantasy and Horror Movies, today the Festival is an essential rendezvous for movie lovers and audiences eager to come into contact with new tendencies and technologies applied to horror and fantastic film cinema. The number one fantasy film festival in the world, both for its seniority and for its media and industrial impact.

Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival

Celebrating Bucheon city’s 50th anniversary on July 1st, BIFAN is Asia’s largest fantastic film festival held annually in Korea, showcasing the best genre films and offering innovative programs. It draws film masters, rising talents, and genre fans worldwide. B.I.G and Goedam Campus discover new genre projects and talents, while Beyond Reality expands the future of genre content with XR and VR.

Cairo International Film Festival

One of the oldest and most regular festivals in the Arab world and Africa, and is unique in that it is the only festival in the Arab and African region registered under Category A at the FIAPF. Has a great interest in showcasing Genre films in its various sections and has a special section CIFF midnight screening deisgnated to program Genre films specially SCI FI , horror and thrillers.

Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara

38 years ago, Guillermo del Toro created the Guadalajara international Film Festival aiming to be a global window for Mexican cinema. From the hand of GDT, the vocation for genre cinema in the festival is undeniable. Now we have a program dedicated to the genre, managing to combine some of the most daring films in development with some of the most important creators of the genre in Ibero-America.

New Zealand International Film Festival

Whānau Mārama: New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF) takes place nationwide featuring the best in global cinema. NZIFF’s history spans 54 years. In 2023 the festival will showcase 100+ films, including films in the Incredibly Strange collection curated by Ant Timpson. NZIFF receives major funding from the New Zealand Film Commission, and Manatū Taonga Ministry of Culture and Heritage.

SXSW Film & TV Festival

SXSW Film & TV Festival celebrates raw innovation and emerging talent from both behind and in front of the camera. The festival has become known for the high caliber and diversity of films presented, as well as its smart, enthusiastic audiences. On the genre front, SXSW has hosted the world premieres of Evil Dead Rise, A Quiet Place, Us, Deadstream, X, and Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Tallinn Black Nights

The biggest and only A-class film festival in the region, includes genre films at PÖFF’s main competition programs and a special program Midnight Shivers, HÕFF, the Haapsalu Horror & Fantasy Film Festival, European Genre Forum, a training program for debut genre filmmakers in collaboration with Amsterdam Imagine and Fantastic Zagreb and all sections of Industry.
